The oldest known Hogarth in my line is Richard Hogarth. Richard was married to Mary Brian and lived in Ireland. John Hogarth, son of Richard Hogarth came to America with his wife Jane Scott. After his first wife died and he married Rebecca Seeley Bloomer. Family stories say this family is cousins of William Hogarth the English Painter. There is no proof of this relationship other than the family tales.
